As of right now there are 18 students who have turned in their deposit to go on the 7th and 8th grade Six Flags Atlanta trip. There are 45 students interested in going on the trip based off the survey. And there are over 75 students saying they are going on the trip.
TODAY November 26th is when the first deposit is due. The first payment is $150. The total cost for the trip for students is $350. The price is based on 100 students going set by the travel company. The final itinerary will be finalized by the travel company once performance times have been set.
Once I have the final numbers of students going to Atlanta, a decision will be made if we will go or not. If we do not go to Atlanta all parents will be receiving their deposit back.
Your first payment is due on November 26th. This will serve as your commitment on going to Atlanta. If we do not have enough students to have a band you will receive your deposit back. A decision will be made LATER TODAY.

All students not riding the bus will need to report to the auditorium by 5:00pm in concert black attire.

Students will be receiving information today about their winter concert on December 16th.
- We will be providing a bus for all students that will leave after school to bus them to the Clover School District Auditorium. (See Form)

Winter Concert December 16th 2019
Students will be receiving information in the upcoming week about their winter concert on December 16th.
- We will be providing a bus for all students that will leave after school to bus them to the Clover School District Auditorium.
- We will also be feeding the students pizza after school before getting on the bus.
- Students will need to be in their concert black attire in order to perform. If you have any concerns about attire please notify Mr. Gibson.
- Students will have to be picked up after the concert at the Clover School District Auditorium.

All County Auditions are December 10th at Fort Mill Middle School (Select 7tth and 8th grade students)
We will be taking a bus on December 10th to Fort Mill Middle School for York County Auditions. Students should bring money for dinner as we will stop before we get to Fort Mill.
Tentative Itinerary :
Depart CMS at 2:00pm
Get dinner from Wendys or Chick-Fil-A 2:45pm (Cherry Rd Rock Hill)
Arrive at Fort Mill Middle by 4:15pm
Auditions 4:30pm-9:00pm (Approxametly)
Return to CMS by 9:30pm

Possible Atlanta Trip for 7th and 8th grade
Currently we have 41 students interested in going on this optional trip. There has been over 75 students between the 7th and 8th grade that has expressed interest in going to Atlanta.
Please fill out the survey to help me determine if we will have enough interest to have a band perform on this trip. The survey does not serve a commitment on going. Your first payment due on November 26th will serve as your commitment on going on this trip. ($150) If we do not have enough students to have a band you will receive your deposit back.
The total cost is $350 this price is based on a total of 100 people going. Price includes 2 charter buses, hotel, Coca Cola museum, Georgia Aquarium, Six Flags, Southern Starr Music Festival registration, all taxes and gratuities. (Tour company is working out details for possible dinner at the varsity and a possible meal voucher at six flags) More information will be provided once final numbers are provided to the tour company.

Our annual winter concert is December 16th. This is a mandatory event for all band students. Students not in attendance will receive a 0% for a test grade. All students will need to be in concert black attire for this event. (Boys black dress pants, black dress shirt, black belt, and black dress shoes. Ladies black dress is school dress code or black slacks, black top, and dress shoes.) You may purchase the students attire anywhere you would like. If you have any questions please email Mr. Gibson.

All students are expected to practice daily. Students who do not know their music for the concert will not perform on the concert. Students and parents will be notified by the first week of December if their child will not be participating on the winter concert.
All band students can come in the band room to practice in the mornings. Students should take advantage of this opportunity.
I will also be available to help students on Wednesday and Thursday this week after school until 5:00pm. This is optional for students.
All percussion students can attend Mr. Hall’s night of percussion from 4pm-5pm on Tuesday 11-12-19 in the Clover High School band room. Students can take the high school shuttle or can be dropped off for the event. If you have any questions please email Mr. Gibson.
All Woodwind students should be playing on a good reed. If a student needs a reed it is $2.
All brass players should have valve oil/ slide grease. If a student needs oil/grease it is $2.

Select 7th and 8th grade students have been nominated to audition for SC region and York County all county band. The first audition for these students is at Fort Mill Middle School on December 10th. We will be taking a bus to the auditions and back to CMS. We will stop for dinner before going to Fort Mill Middle School. A letter with more information will be going home with the select students within the next two weeks about the event.

Winter Concert December 16th 6:30pm in the Clover School District Auditorium
Our annual winter concert is December 16th. This is a mandatory event for all band students. Students not in attendance will receive a 0% for a test grade. All students will need to be in concert black attire for this event. (Boys black dress pants, black dress shirt, black belt, and black dress shoes. Ladies black dress is school dress code or black slacks, black top, and dress shoes.) You may purchase the students attire anywhere you would like. If you have any questions please email Mr. Gibson.

Possible Atlanta Trip For 7th and 8th Grade
Currently we have 33 students interested in going on this optional trip. There has been over 75 students between the 7th and 8th grade that has expressed interest in going to Atlanta.
Please fill out the survey to help me determine if we will have enough interest to have a band perform on this trip. The survey does not serve a commitment on going. Your first payment due on November 26th will serve as your commitment on going on this trip. If we do not have enough students to have a band you will receive your deposit back.

Region band practice/ anybody who wants to get better on their instrument practice on Tuesday,Wednesday, Thursday After School from 3:45pm-5:pm
