There is a wonderful computer program called SmartMusic that will help your child practice at home. Here’s how it works: The student plays into a microphone and the computer actually "listens" to your child.
SmartMusic will actually tell you how many "right notes" were played and is a wonderful tool for home practice. It has lesson books, band music, improvisation books, and instrumental solo. There is an annual subscription fee (around $40 per year).
