Region Band and Honor Band Information

Student nominations have been finalized.  If nominated it is expected that your child attends the audition.   it is also expected that your child practices their audition music daily. I will be available to work with the students auditioning in the mornings or after school if they would like the additional help. If by some reason your name was left off the list and you really want to audition you need to talk to Mr. Gibson ASAP. 

Students will play 7 major scales memorized, the aromatic scales prepared piece, and sight-reading. 

The aromatic scale, prepared piece, and sight-reading are "blind" auditions.  This means the judges cannot see the students while they play. 

When are the auditions and clinics?

December 4th 2018 - York County Honor Band Auditions at Fort Mill Middle School 

(We will most likely taking a bus to this event.  More info will be provided in the upcoming weeks)

January 12th 2019 - Region band auditions at Woodruff High School

(Students will need to provide their own transportation to this event.  If transportation is an issue please contact Mr. Gibson.)

January 26th 2019 - All state auditions for students with a call back at Lexington High School

(Students will need to provide their own transportation to this event.  If transportation is an issue please contact Mr. Gibson.)

January 29th-30th 2019 - York County Honor Band Clinic at Northwestern High School 

(We will most likely taking a bus to this event.  More info will be provided in the upcoming weeks)

February 22nd-23rd 2019 - Region Band Clinic at Converse College 

(We will most likely taking a bus to this event.  More info will be provided in the upcoming weeks.)

March 15th -17th 2019 - All state band clinic at Furman University 

(We will most likely taking a bus to this event.  More info will be provided in the upcoming weeks)
