7th Grade Concert Info.

Parents,

Please watch the 3 min video with updates and information about our Winter Concert on Friday 12-4-20.

7^th grade Concert on FRIDAY 12-4-20 from 6pm-6:30pm in the CMS GYM
Students will need to be in their seats by 5:45pm in the gym
Doors open for 7^th grade parents at 5:30pm
All students will need to be in concert black attire for the winter concert
7^th grade students and parents will need to leave the building quickly after the performance because 8^thgrade students and parents will be coming in the gym for their concert.
Immediate family only to reduce crowd size (Only parents and siblings)

Due to Covid restrictions students are only allowed to have their parents and siblings at the concert to reduce the crowd size.

All spectators will be required to wear a mask and social distance during the performance.

All students will be required to wear their concert black attire.

Boys: Black dress pants, black dress shirt, belt, black shoes.

8th Grade Combined Rehearsal This Friday 11-20-20

8th grade students will have combined rehearsals on the following days from 1pm-3pm. Lunch will be provided at 12:30pm. (PIZZA MAN)

THE LAST COMBINED REHEARSAL IS MANDATORY. THIS IS THE ONLY REMAINING REHEARSAL WE ARE HAVING WITH "A" DAY AND "B"DAY STUDENTS FOR THE CONCERT. IF THERE IS A CONFLICT PLEASE LET MR. GIBSON KNOW AHEAD OF TIME. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE EMAIL MR. GIBSON.

7th grade students will have combined rehearsals on the following S.E.E. days. Students will have to report to school and follow the S.E.E. schedule for the day. School gets out at 12:30pm.

All 7th grade students will need to report to S.E.E. day on 11-20-20.

All 7th grade students will report to school at normal time. The band will rehearse in one of the larger spaces... GYM or CAFETERIA.

Transportation will be provided on the S.E.E. half day.

School gets out at 12:30pm on the S.E.E. day.

*****CVA Students report to Band from 9:45am-10:50am. CVA students are the only students being dropped off and picked up from 9:45am-10:50am. All other students will have to follow the Friday schedule.******

8th grade students will rehearse from 1pm-3pm on 11-20-20 in preparation for our winter concert. LAST COMBINED REHEARSAL BEFORE THE CONCERT ON DECEMBER 4TH.

If your child is staying for the S.E.E. day they will report to the band room at 12:30pm and lunch will be provided. (Pizza Man and water.) If you do not want pizza please bring a bag lunch.

After lunch we will start rehearsing in one of the big locations. GYM / CAFETERIA.

Transportation will not be provided at 3pm. All students will need to be picked up from CMS. If transportation is an issue or your child will not be in attendance please let Mr. Gibson know so he can plan accordingly.

THIS IS THE LAST REHEARSAL BEFORE WE PUT ON A CONCERT. STUDENTS SHOULD BE AT ALL REMAINING REHEARSALS.

Flute students Mrs. Jill O'Neil is planning to do a flute clinic online with all of our flutes on 11-22-20. Times are from 6:30pm-7:30pm.

Mrs. O'Neil is the flute professor at Winthrop University. She will be going over specific flute information via zoom that will benefit all of the flutes.

THIS IS A FREE ZOOM CLINIC. Please make sure you are in attendance on 11-22-20.

Jazz Band Rehearsal This Friday 11-20-20 7:30am-8:30am

Parents,

The earliest possible morning drop-off time for car riders is at 7:30am. Please have students wait in your vehicle until a CMS teacher or administrator is in the line to greet them in the morning. Please do not drop off your child and leave them before 7:30am.

Students will be dismissed from the gym to come down to the band room.

Private Lessons on your Instrument

Private Lessons

As one might expect, private lessons on a musical instrument are the best way to improve performance skills. The one- on-one approach allows the student to benefit from the individual attention as opposed to a teacher monitoring a band program of over 200 students. A recent survey of one All-State Band revealed that 80% of those students in the band studied privately. Simply put, private lessons work! At Clover Middle School, we encourage parents to consider private lessons for their child.

If you want to get better on your instrument one on one lessons are the best way to go. If you are interested in lessons email Mr. Gibson and he will get a list of instructors to you.
