7th and 8th Grade Band Members

All returning band member will be receiving a call From Mr. Gibson within the next two weeks.  I hope you all are well.  I am looking forward to working with you again in the upcoming school year. 

Rising 6th grade Information

I hope you and your child have been enjoying your summer. Thank you to all the parents that have submitted in their instrument fitting ticket.  This information is helpful in placing students in the right band class this fall.  If you have not completed the forms please click on the link below.  This link is ONLY for parents who did not turn in the Instrument fitting ticket. Please have this information completed by July 15th.

Students who want to be in band will be fitted for an instrument.  If your schedule allows please sign up for a time below.  This process will take about 15 minutes.  

 

  • Dates available are July 8th, 9th,10th ,13th ,14th,15th and 16th . Time slots begin at 8:30am and end at 2:00pm. 

 

  • All parents and students entering the building will have their temperature checked before entering the fitting area. 
  • Students will enter the fitting area. Parents will wait outside the fitting area. 
  • Students will be instructed to play on band mouthpieces.  
  • After the students have been fitted parents will be notified of what instrument to get for their child.
  • ***** If you cannot attend one of the days provided please contact Mr. Gibson to see if there is a day that can work for you. If not possible to come in before school your child will be fitted for an instrument at the beginning of the school year. ****  
  • All equipment will be cleaned and sanitized.

         RECAP ON HOW THE INSTRUMENT SELECTION PROCESS WORKS:

  1. Complete Instrument Fitting Ticket OR FILL OUT THE LINK ABOVE BY JULY 15th. (send original copy to school/email back original copy/or complete the link above if you have not submitted the original form.) 

 

  1. Sign up for a time over the summer to be fitted for an instrument.(If possible)

****** If your child does not come to the school to be fitted they will be fitted for an instrument at the beginning of the school year.********(The first two weeks of school.)

 

  1. After the band director fits the students for an instrument the parent will be notified to get an instrument, band book, and materials through Pecknel Music or another reputable music dealer. Please do not purchase or get an instrument before the student has been selected for an instrument. ALL students who want to play an instrument in band will have to have their instrument selection approved by the band director.

 

  1. ALL students who want to play percussion will be fitted at the beginning of the year. All students interested in percussion will need to have a second or third choice in-case they are not selected to the percussion section. Again, students will be fitted at the beginning of the school year not before the school year. Students who are selected for percussion will be notified within the first two weeks of school.
